Boat Service --- Job Overview:
The Service Manager at Boats By George's Service Department will oversee the maintenance, repair, and servicing of boats to ensure timely billing and organization, client satisfaction, and to enhance the reputation of our brand.
This position requires a blend of boat knowledge, systems utilization and operation, team leadership, and excellent customer service skills.
--- Key Responsibilities and Duties:
1.
Service Operations a.
Oversee the day-to-day operations of the service department at all locations.
b.
Schedule and prioritize boat repairs, ensuring timely completion while maximizing efficiency and timely billing.
c.
Establish and maintain quality standards.
2.
Customer Service a.
Ensure customer facing staff communicates effectively with customers to understand their concerns, keeping them informed about the status and estimated completion of their service requests.
b.
Handle customer complaints, providing appropriate solutions or alternatives.
c.
Build and maintain long-term relationships with customers, ensuring their trust and loyalty to our services.
3.
Team Management a.
Lead, motivate, and mentor the service staff as a whole.
b.
Coordinate training programs for the service team to enhance their technical skills and knowledge.
c.
Manage work allocation and rotations, ensuring optimal manpower utilization.
4.
Administrative Tasks a.
Monitor the service department's budget, ensuring optimal cost management.
b.
Maintain accurate records of services performed, parts used, and other related documentation.
c.
Run daily reports to ensure billing has been done properly and that no work orders are forgotten.
5.
Safety and Compliance a.
Ensure that all service operations comply with industry regulations and safety standards.
b.
Monitor the condition of equipment and tools, ensuring their regular maintenance and safe use.
c.
Stay updated on industry trends, innovations, and best practices to integrate into our operations.
Qualifications and Skills:
? General knowledge of boats and engines is a plus, but not required.
? Minimum of 3 years in a supervisory role.
? Excellent leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills.
? Proficient in relevant computer applications and software.
? Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
? Customer-centric mindset with a focus on quality and efficiency.
